Here at Sylacauga First United Methodist Church, we have a number of opportunities for our church family to plug in and get involved. One of those ways is through Children's Choir. This time is dedicated to praising God through song and strengthening our faith as Christ followers.

LaKeisha Crocker has been serving FUMC as children’s choir director for 4 years. She received her Bachelor if Science degree in vocal music education from the University of Alabama and her Masters of Education in school counseling from the University of West Alabama. She taught elementary music for 16 years and will begin her first year as elementary school counselor for the 2020-2021 school year. She is married to Matt, who plays bass guitar for FUMC praise band, and they have one son who is following in his parents musical footsteps.
Sylacauga FUMC Children’s Choir consists of children between the ages of 4-11. The children have numerous opportunities to sing for the Lord through the choir: caroling at local nursing homes, singing during Sunday morning worship, and even performing solos during worship services. The children’s choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings beginning at 5pm at the church building.
At this time, we have temporarily paused our children’s choir time together due to CDC regulations concerning the COVID-19 outbreak. We will reconvene in the fall and begin working on Christmas music.
