Pastor's Corner

Lewis was born in Johnson City, Tennessee in 1956. He lived in Johnson City until 1970 when he moved with his family to Maryland. He completed High School in 1974 and then attended Emory and Henry College. Emory and Henry is a United Methodist College located in Southwestern Virginia. Lewis then attended Asbury Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky where he received his Master of Divinity in 1981. He was ordained as a United Methodist Elder in 1981 and has served churches in Maryland and Alabama.   Lewis is married to Ginny Bradshaw Archer, a native of Alexander City. Ginny is a Licensed Professional Counselor. They have a 12 year old daughter, Kristen who is in 7th grade.   The Archer's most recent ministry has been as missionaries working with the Maasai people in a very remote part of Kenya 2 1/2 years before coming to Sylacauga First United Methodist Church.
